Let's go!

We mailed out the save the dates, and expected to wait a few weeks to hear anything.

It took exactly 12 hours for the first phone call. (mom)

Luckily everyone is just as excited as we are to escape this frozen tundra and drink margaritas in the sand. And a wedding too? Well why the hell not. Let's go.

I'd like to keep everyone up-to-date on the plans and answer any random questions that come our way. So far, these are the two I've heard:

1) I want to run away to the Dominican with you, where do I start?

First of all, we're really really really happy you want to come. And that you like us enough to be trapped on an island with us for a few days.

My suggestion would be to call our travel agent, Maria. All her contact info is listed on our website (link at the bottom of this page). Get a quote, then compare to quotes from you own travel agent or a travel website.

We chose Maria as our agent based entirely on awesomeness. She's a sweetheart and responds to emails very quickly. Even 20 at a time from a frantic bride at inappropriate hours of the night.

Whoever you book with, just make sure you call them sooner rather than later. They can keep you updated when deals on rooms or flights come along.

2) You warned me that your crazy father is going to be there. Is he really that crazy?

Yes. Let me demonstrate with a short history lesson.

Like any father, my dad likes to tell complete strangers about his super-wonderful daughter. He brags. Sometimes he straight out lies, which I encourage.

They usually ask to see a picture. He quickly pulls this one out of his wallet.

Why yes, that is Stymie from the Little Rascals. And yes that is a cut out from the cover of the VHS tape.  Dad explains to the now horrified stranger that I am a very special girl indeed.

This has been going on since the movie first came out in 1994. He still finds it hysterical.
